Okay!

March 18th, 2008

So we didn’t get as much posting as we had hoped. Maybe next year.

I’m happy with the responces I have had from staff and children saying they enjoyed being able to watch the eggs hatch. Hopeuflly next year we will be able to have a live feed of the eggs so you can watch them at home.

The remaining few photos are being uploaded and the videos will be done tomorrow.

The chicks went back to the farm on Monday after growing at a massive rate over the weekend.

Thanks to all the staff and children that looked after them. Let’s look forward to next year.

Day 3 & 4

March 6th, 2008

As a very worried parent that I was, I didnt sleep very well on Tuesday night, leading to me being VERY tired on Wednesday that I forget to upload our new arrivals. As you can see form flickr we are now the proud parents of 8 Wonderful Chicks!

Also a link to the teachertube video is here! Please leave a comment below about what you think about the living eggs!

We have now had our eggs for one whole day and there is movement.

At least 3 of the eggs have now begun to open. Hoepfully the eggs will be hatching more during the night.

Below is a link to a video for the eggs! Can you spot any changes?

The Eggs Arrive

March 3rd, 2008

Today the eggs arrived. It was a bit of a mad set up and Mr. Clarke’s head was spinning after he realised that he was about to have 10 little baby chicks.

The eggs / chicks are going to be in school for two weeks not one, which is fantastic. They are expected to hatch on Tuesday night or Wednesday, and we are all ready looking or the early warning signs.

The camera is firmly filming the eggs as we speak and a 30 second clip of video will be posted on here in the morning.

The camera has been set up to take a still picture every ten minutes of the eggs, and it is also possible to set up more cameras from different angles.

We are looking forward to all the work that we will be able to do around the eggs and the excitement of bringing and watching new life come to Haveley Hey! We are going to be proud parents.

What should we name the chicks once they are born? Why not suggest an idea?

Take a look at the Flickr album to see the latest photos from the Living Eggs. Only a couple for now, but more tomorrow!
